Sydney is a highly appealing destination for global travelers, offering direct flights from the United States and numerous Asian cities, as well as convenient connections to Europe via Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian hubs. We anticipate strong participation from Asian academics, given the minimal time difference between Sydney and countries like China, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

 

The AMA Global Marketing SIG Conference has previously been held in Europe and South America, but it has not yet taken place in Australia. This presents an exciting opportunity for attendees to experience a new destination. Sydney and Australia are renowned for being safe, clean, and welcoming destinations. Electronic visas are easily obtainable for most conference attendees, making travel arrangements straightforward for international participants.

 

Although May is autumn in Sydney, daytime temperatures remain pleasant at around 20°C (68°F). Autumn months in Sydney are less crowded, allowing international visitors to benefit from lower travel and accommodation costs. Late May evenings get dark around 5 pm, which can provide a charming atmosphere for exploring the city. While the conference won't coincide with the Vivid light festival (which typically starts in early June), Sydney offers numerous other attractions and events for visitors to enjoy during their stay.
