Welcome from the Chairperson
Welcome to the American Marketing Association Global Marketing SIG's online resource center. The Global Marketing SIG is one of the largest and most active special interest groups in the AMA. It is the mission of the Global Marketing SIG to try to create value for its members through programs that will be of particular interest in the areas of research, teaching and facilitating global marketing, and is supported by the Global Marketing SIG's objectives.
A popular question is "What is the advantage of being involved with the Global Marketing SIG?" All aspects of marketing include global marketing. Becoming familiar with cultures, business practices, regulations, and successful tactics in other markets is a challenge for all of us. The diversity of the field of global marketing is reflected in the membership of the Global Marketing SIG. Our membership represents 6 of the 7 continents, over 35 countries, including a host of internationally prominent scholars who are not only accomplished researchers (spanning a wide spectrum of research areas) but are highly skilled and competent educators (having received university-wide, national and international educator awards). As a Global Marketing SIG member you have access to a unique resource. The website provides information that past members have requested. Events at marketing conferences and co-sponsored conferences provide opportunities for networking with members from around the world.
The Global SIG is dedicated to faculty growth, education, and creation of new knowledge. If you would like to see other material on the website or would like to propose a project or would like to be involved, please let me know.
